Night at the Museum!
May 23rd, 2009

Just saw Night at the Museum with a few of my friends. It’s part of my job to see every family movie that comes out. Boy, the sacrifices I make. I also have to watch cartoons and go to Disneyland a lot. Research!

Ok, back to the subject at hand. This is a great movie, a wonderful example of learning while having a rip-roarin’ time. It was laugh-out-loud funny, and even my action movie addicted friends thought it was exciting. If you just wanted fun, you got it.

On the other hand, there was so much history built into the story, even more than in the first movie, I think. It was great to see the people we read about really come alive. (I want to be Amelia Earhart’s flying partner!) It also has good lessons about not letting the past limit your future and about loving what you do for a living.

All right, stay tuned for more fun stuff to do in SoCal (with learning secretly slipped in). Right now all I can say is bravo to this movie. http://www.nightatthemuseummovie.com/

p.s. Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog sculpture had a cameo. The audience broke out in spontaneous applause. http://preview.tinyurl.com/onnfvg

p.p.s. Ewan McGregor has signed on to co-star in the Amelia Earhart biopic "Amelia" for Fox Searchlight. Hilary Swank (as Earhart), Richard Gere and Virginia Madsen have already boarded the project. Very cool.
